Purpose

Provides support through correspondence (e.g., personal notes, brochures, and prayer cards) and/or phone calls to parishioners who have experienced a family loss through death. Support continues as needed through one-year anniversary of death. Also coordinates annual All Souls Day Memorial Service with its “Roll Call” of the deceased.

Ministry Opportunities

We need compassionate adult volunteers as new members of this ministry. Training/notebook will be provided. Requires attendance at a monthly prayer service for the bereaved and deceased and brief meeting. The rest of your support time involves approximately one to three hours of personal time each month for correspondence to the bereaved at a time and place convenient to you.
