Ministry Information |
Purpose |
Preparation for First Reconciliation for young children occurs over a two year period, at the first and second grade levels. Specifically, sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation occurs in the fall semester of the 2nd grade level. However, children must be registered and attend all Children's Faith Formation classes throughout their 1st and 2nd grade years in order to participate in First Reconciliation preparation.
First Reconciliation preparation classes occur during each child's regular class session (Weds. 6:15 - 7:30 p.m.). Monitor your child's faith formation calendar and watch the parish bulletin and website to stay abreast of these REQUIRED sessions.
The celebration of First Reconciliation for young children (typically in the second grade) is usually held in December.
Older children and teens who are participating in Christian Initiation for Youth receive their sacramental preparation as a part of their overall formation process. Likewise for adults who are participating in Christian Initiation for Adults, their sacramental preparation is part of their overall formation process.
